Are the cabins good for week+ getaways?

Each of our cabins is designed for longer getaways with fully-equipped kitchens, living rooms with fireplaces & smart TVs, spacious bedrooms with quality linens & duvets, washer/dryers and quiet workspaces with 500mb/s wifi that can support multiple video conferencing calls and stream movies & music. Once you book, we’ll send you our guidebook which has all the details of what you can find inside the cabin so you know how to best pack. And when you arrive, all gadgets (fireplaces, appliances, smart TVs) have QR codes that you can quickly scan with your phone to watch short videos with easy step by step instructions on how to use them. We also automatically provide discounts for guests that are booking for week+ or month+ stays!

How far in advance should we reserve a cabin?

Due to the unique experience at Cascada Farm and all the positive reviews, our guests tend to reserve cabins months in advance. Most are also repeat guests because there is so much to enjoy across all 4 seasons including the fantastic restaurants, bars & shops in Rhinebeck as well as neighboring towns of Red Hook, Hudson, Germantown & Millerton. The Culinary Institute of America and Omega institute are both near with a variety of delicious restaurants & engaging workshops. Wonderful theater is produced out of the Center for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck as well as at Bard College. Wineries, breweries and distilleries fill the area as well as apple orchards & pumpkin patches when in season. Renowned Catamount, Hunter, Windham ski mountains are only a 25-45 minute drive. Hiking, horseback riding & bike trails abound in Dutchess County as does world-class climbing in nearby Minnewaska & Sundown wild forest. For a big adventure in the Summer, go tubing on class III rapids in Phoenecia. More relaxing are the multitude of nearby historic homes which you can tour (Vanderbilt, Olana, Roosevelt) and the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, with dozens of popular events throughout the year, including the Dutchess County Fair, The Country Living Antique Fair and the NYS Sheep & Wool Festival.

What do guests have access to?

Guests have access to ~400 acres and miles of well-maintained trails across forests, ridge tops, creeks and streams, including the cascades and wading pools. Our guidebook has a digital map of all the trails and descriptions of their length, difficulty and unique sights. Many of the trails have picnic tables and natural stone and carved benches to provide a place to relax and have a snack while you explore. It really is a magical place with the only 90ft residential waterfall in the county. Please be safe and note that exploring all of the outdoors are at your own risk.

What’s the best way to get around?

It's easiest to drive or bike through the area. The Rhinecliff train station is only 15 minutes away. Private parking is available at each cabin. Taxis and Ubers are also available to/ from town, but we recommend planning ahead. The Rhinebeck town center in only 8 minutes away and has everything you need- restaurants, shops, pharmacies and groceries. You can also order-in from a few restaurants like Market Street & CJs in Rhinebeck and order groceries to be delivered to your cabin from local groceries via the Instacart app.

Do you accept pets?

We love pups! In fact, we have a lovable giant slobbery St. Bernard named Barkley on the farm. As you can imagine though, it’s difficult to keep them clean when pups just want to play in the woods and water and mud. So for now, we only consider pets on a case by case basis with an incremental cleaning fee.
